Iowa DB Matt Hankins lands Rose Bowl award for Week 6 win
Iowa clawed back to get to 6-0 with the win over Penn State, and a Hawkeye defender reeled in an award for his performance.
That player is defensive back, Matt Hankins. Hankins recorded 5 tackles (3 solo) on the afternoon and came up with a late interception, the 4th of the game for Iowa’s defense.
Hankins was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the B1G on Monday, and the Rose Bowl has awarded him the Rose Bowl Game B1G Player of the Week:

Hankins’ win makes it 3 straight weeks that a Hawkeye has earned that award from the Rose Bowl. Linebacker Jack Campbell and quarterback Spencer Petras have been the other recipients.
Now at 6-0, Iowa will face Purdue in Week 7 while hoping to get Riley Moss back on defense quickly. Moss appeared to injure his knee against Penn State and was omitted from Monday’s updated depth chart.
