Iowa defensive lineman Garret Jansen intends to transfer from the program. The university released a statement on Thursday evening.
The release from Iowa states that Jansen is looking to pursue a graduate program that is not offered through the university.
“All of us are appreciative of Garret’s efforts and contributions,” Kirk Ferentz said in a statement. “Garret will seek a graduate program course of study that is unavailable to him here.”
Jansen has been a member of the Hawkeyes’ defense and special teams units over the last three seasons. He’s appeared in 38 career games and has made nine tackles. He was a two-time Academic All-B1G selection.
There was no mention of where Jansen could potentially land or if he plans to play football at his next stop.
