Iowa’s long-running touchdown drought is over! And with it, the Hawkeyes are off and running against Iowa State in the Cy-Hawk rivalry.

To open the game, the Hawkeyes forced a quick 3-and-out from the Cyclones. A sack on 3rd down forced Iowa State into the punt, and it was blocked by Iowa’s special teams unit.

After setting up deep in the red zone, Iowa’s offense found a groove against the Cyclones. The scoring touch went to running back Leshon Williams who received a helping push from his offensive line near the goal line.

Iowa’s touchdown drought extended all the way back to the Citrus Bowl against Kentucky. The Hawkeyes scored early in the 4th quarter of that game but had not found the end zone since.

Now, Iowa has a positive drive to build on against the Cyclones.
