Iowa’s offense has finally arrived.

The Hawkeyes’ attack has struggled all year while new quarterback Spencer Petras acclimates to game action. However, that changed on Saturday against the Spartans.

Iowa exploded for 35 first-half points against Michigan State. That number was helped slightly by three turnovers by Rocky Lombardi and a punt return touchdown at the end of the half, but the Hawkeyes still did well to take advantage.

Petras finished the half 11-of-18 for 120 yards and a touchdown. Running back Tyler Goodson also had a great half, rushing for two scores.

For Petras, it’s about limiting turnovers. He had three interceptions in his first two games compared to just one touchdown.

After disappointing losses to Purdue and Northwestern, Iowa is still searching for its first win of the season.

The Hawkeyes lead Michigan State 35-0 at the half.
