We all know what Iowa football brings to the table.

Kirk Ferentz always has the Hawkeyes relevant. Part of the reason for that is due to good leadership.

There are people above Ferentz in the Iowa food chain, though. One of those people is athletic director Gary Barta. On Wednesday morning, it was announced that Barta’s contract was being extended through 2024:

As Scott Dochterman of the Athletic tweeted out, Barta and Ferentz have the longest combined tenure of any athletic director and head football coach in Division I. That type of stability in any profession typically leads to success.

Ferentz, it should be known, has his contract in place through 2025.
