Iowa fans are watching one particular number closer than others this fall. The good news (or is it?) is that the Hawkeyes eclipsed that number for the first time all season in Week 3.

Facing Western Michigan, the Hawkeyes went over 25 points scored with a late touchdown in the third quarter. That touchdown by Kamari Moulton — his second of the day — made it 31-10, Iowa. It also meant the Hawkeyes were averaging exactly 25 points per game through the first three games.

That 25 points per game number is particularly notable for offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz after he received an amended contract this offseason. That amended contract stipulates the Hawkeyes average 25 points per game and win 7 games this season or the OC could lose his job.

And while the Hawkeyes still have a long way to go, fans and media alike took notice of the 25+ points scored in Week 3. Iowa will likely want to stack a couple more performances like this with B1G play incoming, including a trip to Penn State in Week 4.
