Iowa strolled in and out of Bloomington with a wildly impressive win over Indiana on Saturday. That’s back-to-back road wins in the conference, something they’ve only done twice in the past eight years. With the 42-16 win, Iowa moves to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference, tied for the lead in the Big Ten West.

Here’s what I liked — and didn’t like — about Iowa’s win over the Hoosiers:

What I liked

Those Iowa tight ends are something special

Iowa junior Noah Fant is the best tight end in America and NFL draft experts are all over his greatness, predicting big things down the road. Sophomore  T.J. Hockenson, Fant’s young protege, isn’t far behind. Both had more than 100 yards receiving, both had a catch of more than 50 yards and both scored, with Hockenson scoring twice.  Fant was banged up coming into the game, but it didn’t matter. Indiana had no answer for them.

Defense got huge interceptions in the end zone twice

Iowa’s defense came into this game banged up a bit, too, but it made huge plays in the biggest moments to secure the victory. Jake Gervase and Geno Stone each intercepted passes in the end zone from Indiana quarterback Peyton Ramsey, stopping drives when Indiana seemed primed to still make this a game. They also completely shut down Indiana’s running game, allowing just 67 yards on 25 carries, a measly 2.7 yards per carry.

Nate Stanley looked like a stud quarterback all day

When you throw six touchdown passes, you’re going to get some praise and there’s no doubt that Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley deserves a pat on the back for his big game. He was 21 of 33 for 320 yards plus those six scores, and he was cool under pressure all day, patiently getting through his progressions to find second and third receivers wide open. Stanley is playing at a high level right now. He’s thrown for more than 300 yards three times in the past four games.

What I didn’t like

Penalties are still an issue

This was a huge win, so there’s not much to pick about. But one thing that still remains an issue are penalties. The Hawkeyes got whistled 11 times for 110 yards on Saturday, and that’s just too much. It didn’t matter Saturday, but it might some day down the road.

Anything else?

Nope. Great job, Hawkeyes. And tell that Upset Alert guy to stick it!!
