Iowa junior guard puts name into transfer portal
An Iowa guard has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Per David Eickholt of 247Sports, junior guard Austin Ash is deciding to explore his options outside of Iowa City. The 6-foot-3 guard is a walk-on for the Hawkeyes and has been with the program for three seasons.
The news of Ash’s decision comes a few days after Iowa was bounced from the NCAA Tournament in the second round, losing a 95-80 game to Oregon. Ash played in nine games at Iowa this year.

Over the course of his three seasons with the Hawkeyes, Ash has played in 26 career games and logged 82 minutes. He’s scored 42 points, with 33 of those coming from 3-point range.
Ash has also grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out 8 assists and collected 7 steals.
Ash could still return to Iowa if it’s in his best interest. With the NCAA granting a blanket waiver for all winter student-athletes, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
