With his 24-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s action at Kinnick Stadium, Iowa redshirt junior kicker Keith Duncan extended the Hawkeyes’ lead over the Illinois Fighting Illini to 16-7.

Making it a two-score game with the three points, Duncan also set a new B1G record for most made field goals in a season with 26.

IowaFBLive recognized the accomplishment on Twitter:

A Weddington, North Carolina native, Duncan has had one of the more interesting collegiate careers in recent memory.

Putting himself on the map with a game-winning field goal over the then-unbeaten Michigan Wolverines as a true freshman in 2016, he did not see game action for Iowa the last two seasons.

Breaking former Purdue Boilermaker Ben Jones’ (2003-05) record of 25 made field goals in a single-season, Duncan will have two more games to add to his total for the 7-3 Hawkeyes.

Live from Iowa City, Saturday’s action with the Fighting Illini is currently airing on BTN.
