What a day it was for Iowa.

First, 2020 in-state star Josh Volk (Cedar Rapids, IA) committed to Iowa. Volk is rated a 3-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 31 OG and the state of Iowa’s No. 3 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Volk committed to the Hawkeyes over offers from Iowa State and Nebraska, among others.

Later, Iowa landed a commitment from Illinois lineman Tyler Elsbury. 247Sports rates Elsbury a 3-star and ranks him as the nation’s No. 48 OG and the state’s No. 15 overall prospect. He committed to Iowa over offers from Illinois and Purdue, among others.

That’s two really good commitments for the Hawkeyes, and it gives Iowa eight commitments for the class of 2020.
