Iowa lands early commitment from 2023 PF out of Illinois
Iowa received an early commitment for the class of 2023 with Bradley-Bourbonnais High School power forward Owen Freeman committing to play for the Hawkeyes. He is the first player from the 2023 cycle to commit to Iowa.

While not much is known about the power forward from Illinois, he does have 8 offers to play college basketball. He has other offers from Wisconsin, Butler, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Purdue according to 247Sports.
Iowa is coming off a stellar 2020-2021 college basketball season where the Hawkeyes finished with an overall record of 22-9 (14-6 in B1G play). They finished eighth in the nation in the AP Poll. They will be heavy contenders this upcoming season, but Iowa is already looking into the matter for future recruiting.
