Iowa’s invasion of Texas continues.

Already this offseason, Iowa landed commitments from four-star running back Eno Benjamin, three-star cornerback Matt Hankins and three-star receiver Gavin Holmes.

Add Chevin Calloway to that list.

The four-star Texas cornerback announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Monday.

Calloway was reportedly down to the Hawkeyes and Texas, but he turned down the in-state power to head north. He had offers from the likes of Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma and more.

The Dallas product is ranked No. 11 among cornerbacks and No. 103 overall in the 2017 class.

Calloway’s commitment will provide a significant boost to Iowa’s top-20 recruiting class. He’s the program’s second highest-rated 2017 recruit behind only five-star defensive end A.J. Epenesa. Iowa jumped from No. 19 to No. 15 overall and No. 3 in the B1G.

If Calloway signs, he’ll be Iowa’s first four-star defensive back in the Kirk Ferentz era.
