Iowa has officially named its new running backs and offensive line coaches.
Monday, head coach Kirk Ferentz the hiring of Ladell Betts as the new running backs coach and George Barnett as the offensive line coach. The Hawkeyes had been looking to fill those voids after seeing Tim Polasek (OL) and Derrick Foster (RB) leave the program for other opportunities.
“I am excited to welcome Ladell and George to our program,” said Ferentz. “Both are interested in helping our student-athletes reach their potential on and off the field.”
Barnett brings 20 years of coaching experience to the staff. Betts is a former Iowa running back and will be returning to his alma mater.
“It is important to hire on culture and philosophy first, and then football acumen,” said Ferentz. “I know Ladell and George will make meaningful contributions to our program and players.”
