Iowa provides injury updates for 2 receivers ahead of Week 3 bout against Nevada
Iowa fans are able to take a sigh of relief Saturday after it was announced 2 key receivers would play against Nevada.
Receivers Nico Ragaini and Keagan Johnson will return to action Saturday after missing the first 2 weeks. The 2 have practiced all 3 days this week, head coach Kirk Ferentz said, and should be ready to go tonight.
The pair playing is a big weight off of Iowa’s shoulders. While they were out, the Hawkeyes had just 1 scholarship receiver in its first 2 games.
Iowa is looking to get some spark in its offense, and the return of the receivers might just be what it needed.
Last season, Ragaini had 331 yards and a touchdown on 26 receptions. Johnson had 352 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 18 receptions.
Iowa has split its first 2 games of the season, defeating South Dakota State in Week 1 and dropping its Week 2 game to Iowa State.
Wednesday, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Nico Ragaini and Keagan Johnson have practiced all 3 days. BTN reporter @MeghanMcKeown_ said this morning both should play tonight. A huge lift for a unit that has played only 1 scholarship WR in 2 games (outside of Brody Brecht’s 4 plays).
