The University of Iowa’s athletic department has updated its latest COVID-19 testing information. The school sent out a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the school, the athletic department administered 646 COVID-19 tests from Aug. 17-23. There were 32 positive results with 613 results returning negative. There is also one inconclusive test.

Included in the testing were student-athletes, coaches and staff within the athletic department.

“Following the positive test result, protocol established by UI Athletics and medical staff, including contact tracing procedures, is being followed to ensure the safety of all UI Athletics student-athletes and staff,” Iowa said in a statement. “This mandatory protocol also includes isolation for the individuals who test positive, and quarantine for those individuals who might have been exposed to someone with the virus.”

Since individuals began returning to campus on May 29, Iowa has conducted 1,922 COVID-19 screenings with 83 positives, 1,838 negatives and 1 inconclusive.
