Iowa fell behind early vs. Illinois, but the Hawkeyes have come surging back.

This throw from quarterback Spencer Petras secured a 14-point lead over the Illini early in the fourth quarter:

Tight end Shaun Beyer was on the receiving end of that throw. That’s the first touchdown catch of his career, and one of the most important grabs of the entire day in the Big Ten. After a review of the play, his catch was confirmed.

That’s 28 unanswered points for Iowa, who trailed 14-13 at halftime of this game. Quarterback Spencer Petras has been excellent in the second half and now has three touchdown passes on the day.

Running back Tyler Goodson is Iowa’s leading rusher with 79 yards so far on the day.

Illinois’ offense has stalled since opening up a 14-0 lead. Quarterback Brandon Peters was benched after a 2-for-10 stretch in favor of backup speedster Isaiah Williams.

Iowa is looking for its fifth consecutive win overall and its seven straight victory over Illinois.
