Iowa has had to deal with many issues at the quarterback position throughout this season, as injuries have been a problem. Cade McNamara was injured in Week 9 against Northwestern with a concussion.
Brendan Sullivan, who started his collegiate career at Northwestern, took over the position. He had been called upon throughout the season in goal line situations before that, but he started the two most recent games against Wisconsin and at UCLA in Week 11.
However, Sullivan suffered an ankle injury in the 20-17 loss to the Bruins, and it is now being reported he is done for the season per Matt Zenitz with CBS Sports.
Iowa QB Brendan Sullivan, who has started the last two games for the Hawkeyes, is expected to miss the rest of the regular season due to an ankle injury, a source tells @cbssports/@247sports.

In the game against the Bruins, the offensive line really struggled to hold up and protect Sullivan. He was sacked 3 times and threw 2 interceptions while also fumbling the ball.
With the team on a bye this past week, there is optimism that McNamara will be out of concussion protocol and be ready on Saturday. If he is still unable to go, then the only other quarterback currently on the roster who has seen the field this year is sophomore Jackson Stratton.
Stratton went into the game against UCLA and went 3-of-6 for 28 yards.
The Hawkeyes will be in action in Week 13 at Maryland 12 p.m. ET and the game will be on the Big Ten Network.
