Iowa RB announces transfer decision through Twitter
The running back room at Iowa is losing one of its members.
On Monday evening, redshirt freshman Kyshaun Bryan announced via Twitter that he’ll be leaving the Iowa program and will search for a new home. He was a member of the Hawkeyes’ 2017 recruiting class.
“I want to thank the University of Iowa, my teammates, and Coach Ferentz for the opportunity to be an Iowa Hawkeye,” he wrote. “I have created great memories and became a better student-athlete while attending this university. I will no longer be furthering my career as an Iowa Hawkeye. My family and I feel it is the best decision for my future.”
Bryan had taken a leave of absence from the team in early September.

Bryan was a 3-star running back out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was one of the top prospects in Iowa’s 2017 recruiting class.
The Hawkeyes have gotten solid production out of their backfield this season, even without Bryan. Toren Young leads the way with 268 yards and two touchdowns while Mekhi Sargent has chipped in with 151 yards and three touchdowns. Ivory Kelly-Martin has added 134 yards and a score.
In his tweet, Bryan did not mention any potential landing spots.
Iowa will travel to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers on Saturday.
