Iowa is off to a 4-0 record and No. 5 ranking in large part because of the strong play by running back Tyler Goodson. Iowa running backs coach Ladell Betts believes the 5-foot-10, 199-pound junior has what it takes to play in the pros.

Betts is confident Goodson can carry a full load in the NFL:

Goodson has rushed for 364 yards and five touchdowns this season. Last season, Goodson totaled 762 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, en route to earning First-team All-B1G honors.

Iowa most recently defeated Colorado State 24-14. Iowa leads the all-time series 2-1 vs. Maryland. The lone Maryland victory in the series came in the inaugural 2014 contest.

Maryland-Iowa is slated for Oct. 1 (8 p.m. EST) and will be televised on FS1.
