Iowa RB Tyler Goodson throws shade at Iowa State: 'This is like their Super Bowl'
In-state college football rivalries are the best.
Pretty much every team has that game they circle on the schedule, and those dates are typically something special and also, unpredictable — that’s the fun part.
For Iowa State, heading to Des Moines to take on Iowa is that date.
Hawkeyes running back Tyler Goodson compared the showdown with the NFL’s top game, at least it is for Iowa State.
Iowa RB Tyler Goodson on Iowa State: "This is like their Super Bowl. They haven’t beat us in a couple years (since 2014). I think them being at their home place knowing College GameDay is going to be there is a good distraction for them and allows us just to focus on us."

For No.8 Iowa State this one is big, havng not beat Iowa since 2014. The Hawkeyes come into Ames at No. 18 in the rankings and the anticipation for the early-season matchup that follows last year’s fanless games just adds to the excitement.
The Cyclones notched their first win of the season in a close game with Northern Iowa, 16-10. ISU came out flat, with quarterback Brock Purdy completing 21-of-26 passes for 199 yards. Running back Breece Hall scored the lone touchdown on the day — it was good enough to win.
On the other hand, Iowa put the hammer down and blasted No. 17 Indiana 34-6 in what was supposed to be a powerhouse matchup. The defense stepped up with cornerback Riley Moss snagging a pair of interceptions, returning both for touchdowns. Goodson tallied 99 yards and a touchdown as well.
The Cy-Hawk classic will kickoff at 3:30 CT on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa.
