Iowa is gearing up for another trip to Indianapolis and the B1G Championship Game against Michigan. On Tuesday, the Hawkeyes revealed the group of captains that will lead the team into the game.

That group will be DE Joe Evans, LB Jay Higgins, TE Luke Lachey and DL Logan Lee. That is a group of veteran players and leaders for Kirk Ferentz’s program.

From that group, Higgins has been a stalwart leader for the Hawkeye defense with 141 total tackles this season. He also has 4 TFLs, a sack, an interception, 4 pass breakups and a forced fumble as a leader in the middle.

Evans is a leader in the trenches with a team-high 9.5 TFLs and 5.5 sacks while also breaking up 4 passes and 1 forced fumble. Lee has also been a leader along the defensive line with 4.5 TFLs, 2 sacks and 3 pass breakups.

Lachey has been injured for much of the season after a serious leg injury for the veteran tight end. He remains an emotional leader for the team but his absence has been felt offensively with Erick All also injured later in the season.

Saturday’s game in Indy is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
