The Iowa football team announced recently that it would have a special look during the Holiday Bowl to honor the recent passing of former head coach Hayden Fry and athletic director Bump Elliott. A few hours before kickoff, the Hawkeyes unveiled the look.

Iowa has removed the TigerHawk logo from both sides of the helmet to honor Fry, who died on Dec. 17. The helmet will feature a special “Bump” decal, dedicated to Elliott, as well.

Below are the photos shared by the official Twitter account of Iowa football:

Fry was the head coach at Iowa from 1979-98 and took the Hawkeyes to 14 bowl games. Elliott was the athletic director from 1970-91. Both Fry and Elliott are members of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Iowa finished the season 9-3 and will take on USC in the Holiday Bowl.
