Iowa is on a roll and is clicking on all cylinders after a strong week of action. The Hawkeyes capped it off with an 81-67 win over Maryland in Iowa City Sunday evening.

The game was a near-perfect offensive performance from Fran McCaffery’s squad on their home court. Iowa saw 4 Hawkeyes reach double figures, led by Tony Perkins’ 22 points on 10-for-13 shooting in the win. Kris Murray also shined with 19 points while Connor McCaffery and Payton Sandfort chipped in 12 apiece.

Iowa finished the win as a team by shooting an impressive 60% from the field. The Hawkeyes also made 6-of-14 shots from 3-point range in one of their best offensive performance of the season.

For Maryland, the Terrapins did not play particularly badly on the road outside of 12 turnovers. Maryland finished the game shooting 47.5% from the field with Jahmir Young leading the team with 20 points.

Coming into the new year, Iowa looked lost on the court with a 3-game losing streak that included losses to Eastern Illinois and Nebraska. Since then, the Hawkeyes have rattled off 4 straight wins, including an upset of Indiana, a road win vs. Rutgers and an impressive overtime victory against Michigan.

Unfortunately, Maryland was unable to grab some momentum following a home win of Ohio State. The Terrapins are now 1-3 in their last 4 games, but it is worth noting all 3 losses have come on the road.
