It’s still several years away, but Iowa has rounded out its 2023 non-conference schedule by adding two opponents to the slate. The program released a statement announcing the schedule changes.
The Hawkeyes have added home dates with Western Michigan and Utah State to round its 2023 schedule. Iowa will open the season against Western Michigan at Kinnick Stadium on Sept. 2, 2023. It will then host Utah State on Sept. 16.
Western Michigan owns a 2-1 all-time series advantage against Iowa, posting victories in 2000 and 2007. The Hawkeyes won the most recent meeting in 2013, recording a 59-3 victory. Iowa is 2-0 all-time against Utah State, registering wins in 1957 and 2002.
Along with the additions to the 2023 schedule, Iowa also announced the dates for the Cy-Hawk Series against Iowa State in 2022 and 2023.
Iowa will host Iowa State on Sept. 10, 2022 and the Cyclones will then host the Hawkeyes on Sept. 9, 2023.
