Another Iowa defender has been selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.
Safety Amani Hooker was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the 116th overall pick on Saturday afternoon, becoming the second Hawkeye selected on Day 3. Former teammate and defensive end Anthony Nelson was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 107th pick.
Hooker is the fourth player from Iowa to hear his name called from Nashville.
Hooker was a do-it-all player for the Hawkeyes last season, tied for the most interceptions on the team with four and ranking second in tackles with 65 stops. He finished his career with over 110 tackles and six picks.
Scouts like Hooker’s frame at 6-foot, 200 pounds, as well as his physicality. He also has a good football IQ and sees the field well. Despite going in the fourth round, he could be a sneaky good pick for the Titans.
