Iowa received some good news with the return of safety Jack Koerner this week.

According to David Eickholt with 247 Sports, Koerner and a friend were involved in a watercraft accident last month on Lake of the Ozarks. Both individuals were injured and transported to hospitals following the incident.

Though it was a scary incident for everyone involved, head coach Kirk Ferentz indicated during his Thursday press conference that Koerner is back with the team. There still is no timetable for when Koerner will be a full-go, but it is good to see that he is back with the team and on campus.

“The good news is that Jack is back with us and we’re moving forward,” Ferentz said. “We’re doing it very cautiously because it was a very traumatic experience for everyone involved. He was just generally sore, so we’re just taking our time with him.”

Koerner recorded 81 tackles, an interception, and two fumble recoveries during the 2019 season.
