The Iowa Hawkeyes are entering the 2018 Big Ten Media Days on a low note, as a starting defensive lineman has been arrested.

According to HawkCentral.com, DT Brady Reiff was arrested in Iowa City early Saturday morning and released later that morning.

The arrest, according to the report, was for public intoxication, which is a misdemeanor:

Brady Reiff, a listed starting defensive tackle for the Iowa football team, was arrested for public intoxication early Saturday morning in Iowa City.

Reiff may face a suspension for the team’s Week 1 opener against Northern Illinois, but nothing formal has been announced.

Expect coach Kirk Ferentz to be asked about the situation during Media Days on Tuesday.
