The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Miamen only participated in 38 offensive snaps this season, with one reception for 22 yards against Maryland.
The seldom-used tight end arrived at Iowa as the No. 18 player from Illinois in the Class of 2019.
Miamen is the third Iowa player to depart the program this season, along with redshirt freshmen wide receiver Quavon Matthews and defensive lineman Isaiah Bruce.
A few exits from the Iowa football program during the season. All three were reserves but two had some rotational snaps. TE Josiah Miamen hit the portal today. I’d imagine he will get heavy interest. pic.twitter.com/GNvgRcj6H1
