The Iowa Hawkeyes now know what bowl game they will be playing in, and who they will be playing against.

The Hawkeyes will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. The game will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Florida.

The Tennessee Volunteers ended the regular season with an 8-4 record. The team was unable to build off of an 11-2 record in the 2022 season. The 2023 Vols suffered losses to Florida, Alabama, Missouri, and Georgia. However, the Vols are going bowling for the 3rd consecutive season. This is the longest such stretch for the Vols since 2014-2016.

The Hawkeyes are coming off of a B1G Championship appearance. The Hawkeyes fell to the Michigan Wolverines and ended the regular season with a 10-3 record. In 2022, the Hawkeyes defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in the Music City Bowl.

The Hawkeyes and Volunteers last played in the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl. The Vols came out victorious in that one, winning 45-28.

The Hawkeyes and Vols will kick off from Orlando at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on New Year’s Day.
