Iowa will honor its legendary former defensive coordinator Bill Brashier with a special decal on its helmets on Friday against Nebraska.

The helmets will include a “BB” decal, honor Brashier, who died at 93 earlier this month.

Brashier first joined Iowa in 1978 in the Hayden Frye era. He stayed with Iowa until his retirement in 1995. Brashier helped Fry earn a record of 124-73-6 during his time and was an integral part of the defensive staff.

The honor comes as Iowa looks to finish out the season with a win to clinch the B1G West. The Hawkeyes just need to win over Nebraska and they will make the B1G Championship, where they will play the winner of Ohio State and Michigan.
