You can’t look to stop Luka Garza. You can only hope to contain him.

Garza had a monster of an afternoon to lead No. 5 Iowa to a 96-73 win over Northwestern. Garza had 17 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two assists in a balanced showcase of his game.

With the win, Iowa improves to 12-1 and 6-1 in the Big Ten. Northwestern drops to 6-6 and 3-5 in the conference.

Iowa shot 57.9 percent from the floor and an impressive 41.7 percent from three-point range. They outrebounded Northwestern 40-27.

Iowa has now won five straight games, four of which during this streak have been by double digits. Their average margin of victory during this winning streak is by 15.4 points.

Garza led all Iowa scorers with five Hawkeyes scoring in double digits.

On Thursday, Iowa will host Indiana. As for Northwestern, they don’t catch a break. Losers of their last five games, they play at No. 9 Wisconsin midweek.
