Iowa Wave makes appearance at Citrus Bowl with help of technology
The Iowa Wave is among the best traditions in all of college football, and the Hawkeyes were able to keep the tradition alive in bowl season with a bit of an assist from technology.
While facing Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl, Iowa had the chance to keep its wave going with the use of Zoom. Though hundreds of miles away from Stead Family Children’s Hospital back in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes still pulled off the tradition of waving to the hospital all the way from Orlando.
“One of the coolest traditions in all of college football back in Kinnick (Stadium) and Iowa City,” said the ABC broadcaster.
One of the best traditions in sports is when Iowa fans wave to kids in the Children’s hospital during home games.
But with the football team on the road for today’s bowl game, they decided to keep the tradition going — via ZOOM.
