Iowa women's basketball takes part in first-ever 'Iowa Wave' basketball edition
Iowa women’s basketball is taking part in the special “Crossover at Kinnick” event inside Kinnick Stadium. Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes are facing DePaul in the special exhibition event, and over 52,000 tickets have been sold for the game.
It’s a special afternoon for women’s sports and women’s college basketball, and the basketball program was able to take part in the best tradition anywhere in sports.
Traditionally, the Iowa Wave is only something football teams have been able to take part in due to the location of the children’s hospital. However, with the court located near one of the endzone inside Kinnick Stadium, the basketball team was able to experience the Wave firsthand at the end of the first quarter.
The Wave needs no other introduction, and this is undoubtedly a moment the players will remember for a long time to come. Check it out (video has no sound):

As a part of the Crossover at Kinnick, Iowa was able to raise money for the children’s hospital. The program announced the event raised $250,000 in money donated to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
That’s a great cause and a Sunday to remember for everyone in attendance!
