Iowa wrestling will reportedly make history with dual on ESPN
Iowa and Iowa State will make history next month when the schools dual on ESPN.
The Cy-Hawk dual will be the first regular season dual ever to be broadcast on ESPN. While some duals have been on ESPN2, one has never been on the main ESPN channel.
That’s according to research from ESPN’s senior director of communications Bill Hofheimer:
I’ve reached out to a lot of people today regarding the CyHawk dual being on ESPN and how often ESPN has televised any dual meet. This is the first time ever a dual meet will be on ESPN according to ESPN’s senior director of communications, @bhofheimer_espn. pic.twitter.com/227P8X3YXm

This is a huge spotlight for the sport of college wrestling. Iowa and Iowa State are 2 of the nation’s premier wrestling programs, so the nation will be treated to an exciting dual.
Last season, the Hawkeyes finished as the No. 2 wrestling team in the country, while the Cyclones were No. 5. The Hawkeyes posted a 15-1 record while the Cyclones closed at at 16-3.
The Cy-Hawk dual will take place at Hilton Coliseum on Sunday, November 26.
