Iowa safety Brandon Snyder will not make the trip to the Pinstripe Bowl with the team, Kirk Ferentz said on Wednesday.

Mark Emmert of the Des Moines Register reported that Snyder would not be permitted to travel with the team after being arrested and charged with an OWI last week. Ferentz said that the safety has been suspended from all team activities.

Snyder would not have played for the Hawkeyes in New York, as an ACL injury kept him sidelined for most of the season. But he hasn’t even been around the team and won’t have the opportunity to take in the Pinstripe Bowl this year.

Late last week, Snyder was arrested near Kinnick Stadium for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Snyder appeared in just one game for Iowa this season, recording a pick-six against Illinois in the middle of the year.

There was no other explanation has to how long Snyder would be away from the team or whether the suspension would creep into the 2018 season.
