Iowa return man Charlie Jones reportedly has a transfer destination picked out, and he’s staying in the B1G West for his final season of eligibility.

According to Tom Dienhart with GoldandBlack.com, the B1G’s Return Specialist of the Year will be committing to Purdue. Jones will be a grad transfer and immediately eligible for the Boilermakers in the 2022 season.

While Jones’ biggest asset is in the return game – he averaged 25.4 yards per kick return in 2021 with a touchdown – he also brings some depth to Purdue’s wide receiver room. Jones had 323 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns in 2021.

With David Bell off to the NFL, Milton Wright’s sudden departure due to academics and the departure of veteran Jackson Anthrop, Jones is among a group of incoming transfers to help Purdue’s receiving room. The Boilermakers also added Tyrone Tracy (Iowa) and Elijah Canion (Auburn) via the transfer portal.
