Joe Wieskamp had to be helped to the locker room midway through the first half of Sunday’s game between No. 5 Iowa and No. 25 Wisconsin after appearing to sustain an injury to his ankle or foot. His departure came with just over eight minutes left in the half.

Midway through the half, Wieskamp appeared to roll his ankle while trying to get by a Wisconsin defender. He then had to be helped off the floor and taken to the locker room to address the injury.

Wieskamp had been off to a hot start, making all 5 of his shots from the floor, including a pair of 3-point baskets. He had 12 points in less than 12 minutes of action. The junior also had a rebound and an assist.

Iowa has depended heavily on Wieskamp this season. He’s averaging 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 50% from the floor. He’s been a big part of the Hawkeyes’ success on the way to a Top 4 seed in the B1G Tournament.

The Hawkeyes own a 35-26 halftime lead on the Badgers.
