Iowa dominated Indiana in Week 1’s 34-6 win — and Riley Moss played a huge role.

Moss intercepted Hoosiers quarterback Michael Penix Jr. twice and ran both back for touchdowns. He discusses the pick sixes in the teaser for the next episode of The Heartland, which airs Sept. 9 on the B1G Network.

“I saw the quarterback before the snap kind of looking down the boundary, so I knew something was up,” Moss said of his first pick. “No. 1 ended up running the quick out and I was kind of sitting over the top of it, able to make the tackle if he threw it. He did throw it, and I was just kind of in the right place at the right time. The ball popped up off the receiver and I grabbed it, and took it back. It just happened so quick that I didn’t realize what happened until I was back on the bench.”

“I was kind of sitting back and reading the quarterback,” Moss said, describing the second interception. “He turned his shoulders … so I broke on it. It was a quick three-step read and I made a play on the ball and ran it back. It was a pretty easy read, and I just trusted my instincts and that also happened very fast, too.”

Moss and No. 9 Iowa have a big one this week as they head to No. 10 Iowa State for the annual “Cy-Hawk” game. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
