Jack Campbell is starting to impress with the Detroit Lions. The Detroit News’ Nolan Bianchi reported the news.
Campbell was selected by the Lions with the 18th-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He attended Iowa from 2019-2023. It appears that Campbell is living up his first-round pick expectations so far. One coach said that Campbell will continue to improve.
“He’s a smart player and every time that he goes against that environment, he’ll just be better and better.”

Campbell will need to continue improving if he wants to take over as one of Detroit’s starting linebackers. The 2022 Butkus Award winner is off to a good start already.
The Lions also chose former Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th-overall pick. If both rookies can perform like they did in college, the gamble the Lions took might pay off.
Campbell and the Lions face the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second game of the preseason this Saturday. Kickoff will be 1 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
