Jack Koerner was among the unfortunate prospects who did not hear his name called during the 2022 NFL Draft. Fortunately, he’s still getting his shot at the NFL.

After the draft concluded, Koerner landed an undrafted free agent deal with the New Orleans Saints. Koerner will head to the NFC South with a shot to make the roster and get his NFL career underway. He’ll join former Michigan DB Vincent Gray in New Orleans as a fellow UDFA.

Koerner was a 3-year starter at Iowa and an integral piece of the Hawkeye defense during his time in Iowa City. He finished his time at Iowa with 215 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 6 interceptions and 8 passes defended.

After walking on at Iowa, Koerner will try to land a spot on an NFL team while going with a similar route via a UDFA deal. Hopefully he’ll stick with New Orleans for 2022.
