Jermari Harris, key Iowa DB, reveals plans for 2024
Jermari Harris has been a key piece for the Iowa defense. Now, he’s ready to provide a boost for the team heading into 2024.
Wednesday evening, Harris confirmed in a note on the team’s social media page that he will return for the program next season. It will be a 6th season for Harris who missed all of 2022 with an injury.
“There’s more to give,” wrote Harris. “See you next fall.”

After missing the 2022 season, Harris bounced back with a big-time performance. He tied with Sebastian Castro for the team lead with 8 pass breakups and recorded 42 total tackles and an interception. Prior to missing 2022, Harris delivered 4 interceptions, 4 pass breakups and 34 tackles in a breakout 2021 performance.
Already, Iowa’s elite defense is off to a strong start heading into 2024. All-American linebacker Jay Higgins confirmed he will be back for another season after finishing as one of the leading tacklers in all of college football.
