Jill Biden made a pretty unorthodox request following LSU’s national championship victory over Iowa Sunday.

Biden, the First Lady of the United States, said that she wanted both champions, LSU and Iowa, to visit the White House. The First Lady was in attendance for the game in Dallas and, while speaking at the Colorado state capital in Denver, said Iowa deserved some praise as well.

“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come,” she said, via AP. “But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game.”

A lot of sports fans are not going to like that one. Especially in Baton Rouge.

While Iowa played a strong game, the game is played for a reason: to crown a winner. Inviting both to the White House is a bit of a slight at LSU, who earned their way to the top of the mountain against a strong Iowa team and perhaps one of the most exciting players the game has ever seen in Caitlin Clark.
