Zach Johnson might be working to get back into midseason form, but he still makes time to keep up with Iowa football recruiting.

Johnson, a die-hard Hawkeye fan, couldn’t help but notice that the team’s top target, three-star offensive tackle Alaric Jackson, picked up an offer from Michigan right before National Signing Day. Jackson was scheduled to make his announcement at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, but he postponed his announcement until Wednesday.

That didn’t sit well with Johnson.

Johnson has since deleted the tweet.

Jackson was deciding between Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan State. But Iowa was the presumed favorite when Jackson canceled an official visit to Nebraska following his trip to Iowa City.

Michigan, on the other hand, lost two offensive tackles in the last two weeks. One of which was longtime commit Erik Swenson, who claimed he had his scholarship pulled by the team, which caused Harbaugh’s recruiting tactics to come under fire.

The Wolverines are down to three offensive linemen in their 2016 class. That explains why Jackson got the late offer, and that explains why Johnson was annoyed with the latest Harbaugh-related development.

It remains to be seen if Michigan’s last-ditch effort will indeed result in a flip. If so, you can bet there will be a lot more Iowa fans that are ‘fed up with Khakis.’
