Kaleb Johnson entered the 2024 season with 1,242 rushing yards across his first 2 seasons at Iowa. After eclipsing that total with a massive 2024 campaign, Johnson is reportedly ready for the next step in his career.

Johnson has announced he is entering the 2025 NFL Draft after rushing for 1,537 yards and 23 offensive touchdowns this season. Johnson led the Big Ten in both categories and finished 4th nationally in rushing yards.

Here is the message Johnson shared to the Hawkeyes on social media:

With Johnson entering the draft, it’s possible he will skip Iowa’s forthcoming bowl game, wherever that might be. If this is indeed the end of Johnson’s time with the Hawkeyes, he arguably saved his best individual moment for his final game in Iowa City.

As Iowa trailed Nebraska to start the fourth quarter on Black Friday, Johnson delivered a wild 72-yard touchdown off a screen pass to tie the game. He was bottled up running the ball for much of the evening, but his receiving touchdown included multiple broken tackles with 6 Huskers having a shot to bring him down on the play.

Johnson has 2,779 rushing yards in his Hawkeye career and 30 rushing touchdowns. He is currently 5th on the program’s all-time list for rushing yards, 4th for rushing touchdowns and 5th for touchdowns from scrimmage with 32.
