Kaleb Johnson came to play in Week 7 against the Washington Huskies.

In the 1st quarter, Johnson opened up the scoring with a 6-yard TD run. Then, the RB found the end zone again in the  2nd quarter on an 18-yard receiving TD.

The junior RB secured a hat trick at the start of the 4th quarter with an 8-yard scamper to put the Hawkeyes up 30-10.

This is Johnson’s 2nd game with 3 TDs in 2024.  The first came against Minnesota when the RB rushed for 206 yards and 3 scores. The Hawkeyes went on to win that game 31-14.

Johnson has surpassed the 100-yard mark again, meaning the RB has hit that mark in all but 1 game in 2024. Johnson has also scored at least 2 TDs in every game except 1.

About halfway through the 4th quarter, Johnson has 166 yards and 2 rushing scores on 21 carries. The RB has also caught 3 passes for 22 yards and 1 TD. The Hawkeyes are in control of the Huskies, winning 40-10 at home.

This win would be big for the Hawkeyes who are looking to rebound after suffering a bad loss to Ohio State last weekend. A win would move the team to 4-2 overall with a 2-1 record in the conference.

Heading into Week 7, Johnson was No. 2 in the country in rushing yards with 771 and is also No. 2 in yards per game with 154.20. Johnson trails only Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty in those categories and was tied for 3rd in rushing scores with 10.
