Keegan Murray is starting to look like a good pick for the Sacramento Kings. The former Iowa star was announced as one of the two Rookies of the Month for December on Tuesday.

Murray shared the honor with Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero. Murray averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Murray also made 46.4% of his three-pointers.

The Kings took Murray with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Iowa. As a whole Murray averages 11.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists through 33 games played. Sacramento is currently 19-16 and is in first place in its division.

Things are looking much better for the Kings in 2022. After finishing last season with a 30-52 record, the team is above .500 through the first few months of the regular season. This comes after sending Tyrese Halliburton to the Indiana Pacers for Domantas Sabonis as a part of their six-player trade in February.

Fans can tune into the Kings’ next game on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. Tipoff will be at 9 p.m. ET.
