Keegan Murray has fit in well with the Sacramento Kings since they drafted him. Iowa fans now have a new favorite NBA team because of it per Sacramento Bee’s Cameron Salerno.

Murray got plenty of playing time during the NBA preseason as Iowa fans watched him make plays like he did in college. He noted how awesome it was to see fans start wearing Kings’ gear since he’s been back to Iowa City.

“It’s been cool,” Murray said of the support. “I have been back to Iowa once since I’ve been drafted and I’ve seen people with Sacramento Kings stuff on and that’s never happened in the state of Iowa. It’s been cool to see the people out there who have helped me. (Sacramento) has been good to me so far.”

Murray played last played on Oct. 9 for the Kings in a preseason game against the Portland Trailblazers where he scored 16 points. He also had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.

Things are off to a good start for the former Hawkeye.
