Kim Mulkey and LSU defeated Iowa 102-85 in the National Championship Game on Sunday afternoon in Dallas.

However, Caitlin Clark had another 30-point game to go along with 8 assists. Clark helped keep Iowa in the game until things got out of hand in the 4th quarter. She made 8-of-19 3-point attempts and broke the record for most 3-point makes in a single NCAA Tournament.

After the game, Mulkey took Clark aside during the postgame handshake line and shared some kind words with the Iowa superstar.

“You’re a generational player,” Mulkey said.

Clark put on a show throughout the NCAA Tournament. Iowa reached the National Championship Game thanks to back-to-back 41-point performances vs. Louisville and South Carolina in the Elite Eight and Final Four.

Despite Clark’s heroics, LSU was unstoppable on Sunday afternoon in Dallas. The Tigers scored a title game record 102 points and shot 54.3% from the field in the win.

Clark, who also was named National Player of the Year, could return to Iowa for her senior season in 2023-24. This was Iowa’s first-ever trip to the National Championship Game.
