Kinnick Stadium scoreboard suffers major malfunction in season opener
Kinnick Stadium is playing host to Iowa’s Week 1 matchup against Utah State. The first quarter of action was all Hawkeyes, but it appears that scoring took a toll on the scoreboard.
In his first start for Iowa, quarterback Cade McNamara connected for a touchdown on the first pass attempt of his Hawkeye career. He added another touchdown in the first quarter to give Iowa an early 14-0 lead.
Unfortunately, the scoreboard in Kinnick Stadium went blank and is having some major issues on Saturday. Take a look:

For a program that averaged 13.3 points a season ago and didn’t reach 14 points in a game until Sept. 17, it’s safe to call the first quarter an “offensive onslaught” for the Hawkeyes. And with the scoreboard malfunctioning, the jokes on Saturday pretty much wrote themselves.
