Kirk Ferentz addresses Iowa QB situation: 'We all have faith in both players'
Kirk Ferentz continues to answer questions surrounding the quarterback position of the Hawkeyes. In 2 games, Spencer Petras has started and played the full games despite continued struggles.
Those struggles have yet to change the plans for Ferentz’s squad with the head coach confirming Tuesday Petras will continue to be the starter in Week 3:
“He’ll start right now, that’s our plan unless something happens in practice,” said Ferentz. “We obviously spent a lot of time looking at it, considering it, talking about it. It’s not the same as last year but there are some similarities.
“I’ve talked to Alex (Padilla) about the same thing… I speak for everyone in our program, we all have faith in both players.”

Riley Moss also went to bat for Petras Tuesday, saying the QB is one of the most resilient players he knows. He also believes the pressure Petras is facing from outside the program is a bit unfair.
We’ll see if Petras is able to put his struggles behind him in Week 3.
